Pyramid of Capitalist System 1911 Bilingual Political History Art Poster
A reproduction of the famous 1911 Pyramid of Capitalist System poster, with French and English captions layering rulers, clergy, military and workers into a striking hierarchy.
Description
This historic poster, issued by Nedelkovich, Brashich and Kuharich and copyrighted 1911 by the International Pub Co. of Cleveland, visualizes class society as a towering pyramid. Each layer carries bilingual slogans — ‘We Rule You / Nous vous gouvernons,’ ‘We Fool You,’ ‘We Shoot at You,’ ‘We Eat for You’ — down to the workers who hold everything up with ‘We Work for All / We Feed All.’ A powerful piece of labor history and political art.
